C57BL/6 mouse brain endothelial cells (MBREC) are isolated from tissue of pathogen-free laboratory mice.
C57BL/6 Mouse Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cells are primary cells isolated from the brain tissue of pathogen-free laboratory mice, serving as an ideal model for C57BL/6 brain microvascular assays. Following primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. They are dynamic gatekeepers of brain homeostasis, integrating barrier integrity, selective transport, hemodynamic regulation, and neural repair. C57BL/6 Mouse Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cells are characterized by the expression of markers including VE-cadherin (CD144) and CD31/PECAM-1. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided during culture. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

C57BL/6 Mouse Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cells serve as a critical in vitro and in vivo model to study cerebrovascular pathologies, particularly focusing on blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction, and age-related microvascular degeneration. For example, by analyzing molecular pathways like claudin-5 downregulation and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) impairment in ischemic stroke or aging models, these cells could help elucidate mechanisms of BBB leakage, cerebral hypoperfusion, and neuroinflammation. Additionally, these cells can be used in assays of cell-cell adhesion, migration, vascular tube formation, or transendothelial electrical resistance (TEER).
