C57BL/6 Mouse Primary Kidney Epithelial Cells from AcceGen are isolated from tissue of pathogen-free laboratory mice.
C57BL/6 Mouse Kidney Epithelial Cells are primary cells isolated from the kidney tissue of pathogen-free laboratory mice, serving as a well-established model for molecular studies in the renal epithelium, mouse renal epithelial physiology, and C57BL/6 kidney filtration function. These cells primarily reside in the renal tubules, including proximal and distal convoluted tubules, as well as collecting ducts, where they mediate electrolyte transport, metabolite reabsorption, and urine concentration. Following primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. The cells actively maintain fluid and electrolyte homeostasis, nutrient reabsorption, and acid-base balance. Studies have demonstrated their involvement in acute kidney injury, diabetic nephropathy, polycystic kidney disease, and drug-induced nephrotoxicity. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided during culture. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

C57BL/6 Mouse Kidney Epithelial Cells can be used as an in vitro model to study the pathogenesis of renal tubular disorders in disease conditions such as acute kidney injury (AKI) and diabetic nephropathy. Researchers can investigate critical pathological mechanisms including ischemia-reperfusion-induced tubular necrosis, hyperglycemia-promoted collagen deposition, and fibrotic scarring. The cells enable evaluation of renoprotective compounds targeting oxidative stress, inflammatory pathways, and fibrotic signaling cascades.
