CM-S/un is a human tumor cell line derived from the bone marrow of a 3-year-old male patient diagnosed with congenital hypoplastic anemia (Diamond-Blackfan syndrome). CM S/un is classified as a monocyte-tumor cell line cultured in suspension. This line is capable of forming tumors in immunodeficient models. It is used to model hematologic malignancies and bone marrow tumor biology, supporting reproducible in vitro experimentation. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, syphilis, mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.

CM S/un serves as an important model for studying hematopoietic and myeloid malignancies, particularly in bone marrow tumor biology. Its expression of monocyte lineage markers and hematopoietic transcription factors makes it ideal for investigating differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis resistance mechanisms in myeloid cancers. The tumorigenic nature of CM S/un supports in vivo xenograft models to evaluate novel therapeutic agents and drug resistance. This cell line is also utilized in screening cytotoxicity, studying hematopoietic signaling pathways, and exploring molecular targets relevant to leukemia and related disorders, making it a versatile tool for translational oncology research.
