Human Caucasian lung carcinoma. Derived from a pleural effusion taken from a 71-year-old Caucasian male suffering from small cell lung carcinoma.
COR-L51 cell line is derived from a pleural effusion taken from a 71-year-old Caucasian male suffering from small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC). This cell line grows in a suspension manner, forming floating aggregates under the standard conditions and is maintained in RPMI 1640 medium supplemented with 2 mM glutamine and 10% foetal bovine serum (FBS). The COR-L51 cells carry a heterozygous TP53 mutation. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

The COR-L51 cell line is a valuable model in tumor research. As a typical in vitro model of small cell lung cancer (SCLC), this cell line is widely used in anti-tumor drug screening, cancer mechanism studies, and the development of novel therapeutic strategies. In drug research and development, COR-L51 is often used to test the sensitivity of chemotherapeutic drugs (such as etoposide and cisplatin) and targeted drugs, providing reliable data for preclinical efficacy evaluation. It also serves as a valuable tool for COR-L51 research, supporting studies on tumor biology, signaling pathways, and therapeutic responses.
