Human Caucasian lung small cell carcinoma. Derived from the pleural effusion of a 55-year-old Caucasian male.
COR-L88 cell line is derived from a pleural effusion sample of a 55-year-old white male diagnosed with small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC), a highly aggressive form of lung cancer. This metastatic cancer cell line exhibits specific genetic and molecular characteristics and shows semi-adherent growth properties. The genetic status reveals microsatellite stability (MSS). The COR-L88 cell line expresses key genes such as RGR, E4F1, and BSDC1. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

COR-L88 is widely used in preclinical cancer research, particularly for studying small cell lung cancer (SCLC), a highly aggressive and metastatic malignancy. Due to its origin from a human SCLC tumor, this cell line serves as a critical in vitro model for investigating tumorigenesis, drug resistance mechanisms, and metastasis. Researchers utilize COR-L88 in high-throughput drug screening to evaluate the efficacy of novel chemotherapeutic agents, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies. The COR-L88 cell line is also used in studies of tumor biology, signaling pathways, and therapeutic response mechanisms, making it a versatile tool in SCLC research.
