The HT-3 cell line is a human cervical carcinoma model used in cancer biology, HPV-related research, and screening of anti-tumor therapeutics.
HT-3 is a human cervical carcinoma cell line originally derived from a metastatic lymph node of a 58-year-old Caucasian female patient. It displays an epithelial-like morphology and grows as adherent monolayers in standard culture, consistent with carcinoma phenotypes. HT-3 cell line harbors a homozygous TP53 p.Gly245Val mutation, leading to a dominant-negative p53 protein defective in transactivation, and evidence shows the presence of human papillomavirus type 30 (HPV30) DNA in its genome. HT-3 cells are tumorigenic in immunocompromised mice, making them a robust model for in vivo and in vitro studies of cervical cancer growth and progression. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

HT-3 cells serve as an in vitro model of human cervical carcinoma for investigating tumor cell proliferation, p53 pathway dysfunction, and HPV-associated cancer mechanisms. They are widely applied in anticancer drug sensitivity assays, signaling pathway analyses, and preclinical evaluation of therapeutic interventions relevant to cervical tumor biology.
