Human Brachiocephalic Artery Endothelial Cells support vascular biology, atherosclerosis modeling, and cardiovascular drug screening research.
Human Brachiocephalic Artery Endothelial Cells are primary cells isolated from brachiocephalic artery tissue of healthy human donors. They were obtained and cryopreserved at early passage to maintain physiological relevance. They exhibit cobblestone-like morphology and adherent growth in a monolayer. Functionally, they mediate endothelial cell–artery interactions and maintain vascular homeostasis. They also regulate blood vessel tone, prevent clotting, and act as a blood-vessel-wall barrier. Dysregulation of these cells is linked to cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis. They express von Willebrand factor (vWF). Maintaining normal karyotype, these primary cells have limited expansion capacity and require specialized culture conditions to preserve their artery-specific properties. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided during culture. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Human Brachiocephalic Artery Endothelial Cells can be utilized as an in vitro cell model to study the pathogenesis of various cardiovascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis and hypertension. Researchers can employ these cells to investigate the molecular pathways involved in endothelial cell activation, such as NF-κB signaling pathway activation in response to inflammatory cytokines. These studies provide a better understanding of the normal physiological functions of these cells, such as vascular permeability regulation and leukocyte adhesion control. This knowledge also helps to elucidate the pathological changes that occur in disease states.
