Description

Human Cord Blood HUVEC (Mixed) are endothelial cells isolated from the umbilical vein of healthy human donors following full-term deliveries. This mixed population is derived from pooled donors to reduce individual variability and provide robust, representative endothelial behavior. These cells are collected and cultured at early passages and exhibit the classic cobblestone morphology characteristic of endothelial monolayers under adherent growth conditions. HUVECs express key endothelial markers such as CD31 (PECAM-1), von Willebrand Factor (vWF), and VE-cadherin, as confirmed by immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry. Cytogenetic analysis typically reveals a normal diploid karyotype. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human Cord Blood HUVEC (Mixed) are widely used in vascular biology, angiogenesis research, inflammation studies, cardiovascular modeling, tissue engineering, and drug screening for endothelial function or dysfunction. Their human origin and physiological relevance make them an ideal in vitro model for studying endothelial permeability, leukocyte transmigration, and vascular response to stimuli.
