Description

Human Hair Outer Root Sheath Cells (HHFORSC) are sourced from the multiple layers of the hair follicle's outer root sheath, which is continuous with the interfollicular epidermis and obtained from healthy donors. These cells exhibit characteristic spindle-to-polygonal morphology and are recognized for their stem/progenitor cell properties, including nestin expression and epidermal keratinocyte potential. HHFORSC play roles as sensory and immunologic sentinels through epithelial-mesenchymal crosstalk within the follicle. They make HHFORSC excellent models for hair biology, wound healing, and regenerative research. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.
