Description

Human Liver Microsomes-50 Donors are pooled subcellular fractions isolated from normal adult liver tissues, representing a composite metabolic profile across a diverse population. They are enriched in phase I enzymes (e.g., CYP450) and selected phase II enzymes (e.g., UGTs) and retain catalytic activity essential for xenobiotic biotransformation studies. Pooling from 50 donors reduces individual variability, providing a physiologically relevant average for assessing metabolic clearance, pathway prediction, and enzyme-specific drug interactions. This reagent is widely used in high-throughput screening to determine metabolic stability, metabolite identification, and enzyme inhibition kinetics. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Pooled human liver microsomes are ideal for in vitro assessment of drug metabolism, clearance, and potential interactions. They support cytochrome P450 phenotyping, metabolic stability testing, and phase I/II enzyme inhibition assays. Common applications include high-throughput ADME screening, metabolite profiling, and risk assessment for drug–drug interactions. These microsomes are also used to characterize glucuronidation pathways and quantify metabolite formation rates, offering critical data to guide drug candidate selection and dose prediction.
