Description

Human Pre screened Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVECs), neonatal, are primary endothelial cells isolated from umbilical veins of healthy, full-term infants. These cells exhibit a classic cobblestone morphology with prominent nuclei and robust proliferative ability. These cells express definitive endothelial markers including CD31 (PECAM-1), VE-cadherin (CD144), and von Willebrand factor (vWF), while functionally responding to VEGF through activation of VEGFR-2, Akt/PKB, and MAPK signaling pathways, confirming their angiogenic competence. As primary cells, they possess finite proliferative potential and are not suitable for indefinite passaging. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • These Pre-screened human HUVEC provide an advanced in vitro model to study vascular development, angiogenesis, endothelial permeability, and inflammatory responses. They are particularly suited for investigations into neonatal circadian rhythms in endothelial cells, mechanistic studies of cardiovascular or metabolic disease pathways, and high-throughput drug screening targeting angiogenic or vascular signaling pathways including the VEGF-A/VEGFR-2 axis, eNOS activation, and barrier integrity assays.
