Description

Rabbit Lung Fibroblasts (RLF) are primary mesenchymal cells isolated from the lung parenchyma of rabbits. These cells exhibit spindle-shaped morphology, grow adherently in vitro, and form elongated cell networks typical of pulmonary fibroblasts. They are responsible for extracellular matrix deposition, collagen synthesis, and tissue remodeling in lung development and repair. Rabbit lung fibroblasts express mesenchymal markers such as vimentin and type I collagen. All cells are cryopreserved at early passage. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • RLF are commonly used in pulmonary research to study extracellular matrix remodeling, fibrogenic signaling, and fibroblast-driven responses during lung injury and repair. They provide a relevant in vitro model for investigating pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, and inflammation-associated tissue remodeling. RLF also support drug screening for antifibrotic agents and help elucidate the role of fibroblasts in airway remodeling and chronic respiratory disorders.
