Description

Rat Coronary Artery Endothelial Cells (RCAEC) are primary cells isolated from the coronary arteries of adult rats. These cells are essential components of the vascular endothelium, lining the interior surface of blood vessels, and play a critical role in maintaining vascular tone, barrier function, and promoting angiogenesis. The cells exhibit a characteristic polygonal morphology and grow as an adherent, confluent monolayer. They express key endothelial markers such as CD31 (PECAM-1) and von Willebrand factor (vWF). Rat coronary artery endothelial cells are commonly used in research focused on cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, and endothelial dysfunction. These cells are cryopreserved at early passages to preserve their functional integrity. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Rat Coronary Artery Endothelial Cells are widely used to study the pathophysiology of cardiovascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, hypertension, coronary artery disease, and endothelial dysfunction. They serve as a model to study how inflammatory cytokines, lipid mediators, and oxidative stress influence vascular health and endothelial function. Additionally, they are used in studying the mechanisms of coronary artery disease and in evaluating the impact of endothelial injury and repair processes in atherosclerotic plaque formation.
