Description

Rat Endothelial Progenitor Cells (REPCs) are primary vascular precursors isolated from rat peripheral blood or bone marrow, capable of differentiating into mature endothelial cells. These spindle-shaped, adherent cells play a key role in neovascularization and vascular repair. REPCs express progenitor and endothelial markers such as CD34, VEGFR-2 (Flk-1), CD133, and they respond to angiogenic factors like VEGF and bFGF. Due to their regenerative capacity and phenotypic plasticity, REPCs are valuable for modeling vascular development and endothelial dysfunction. AcceGen's REPCs are cryopreserved at early passage to maintain high viability and native function. To ensure optimal cell performance, repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Rat endothelial progenitor cells (REPCs) are widely used in vascular biology, angiogenesis research, and tissue engineering. They serve as robust models for studying endothelial repair mechanisms, ischemia-induced neovascularization, and cardiovascular disease progression. Their responsiveness to angiogenic stimuli such as VEGF and bFGF enables investigation of signaling pathways involved in endothelial activation. Additionally, REPCs are applicable in cell transplantation studies aiming to enhance post-ischemic vascular recovery. REPCs are also employed in drug screening assays targeting vascular regeneration or anti-angiogenic therapies.
