Rat Intestinal Fibroblasts

Rat Intestinal Fibroblasts are primary cells derived from the lamina propria of rat small intestinal tissue. These cells exhibit a characteristic spindle-shaped morphology and demonstrate strong adherence to tissue culture–treated plastic surfaces. In vitro, they form a fibroblastic monolayer and show robust proliferation under optimized growth conditions. Rat Intestinal Fibroblasts express typical mesenchymal markers such as vimentin, fibronectin, and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), confirming their mesenchymal identity and functional involvement in extracellular matrix synthesis and tissue remodeling. Cryopreserved at low passage, these cells retain excellent viability and phenotypic stability. To preserve functionality and integrity, repeated freeze-thaw cycles are not recommended. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.
