Description

Rat Lung Endothelial Cells are primary microvascular cells isolated from healthy rat lung tissue. These cells exhibit a classic cobblestone morphology when confluent and display strong adherence to culture surfaces coated with extracellular matrix proteins such as fibronectin or collagen. As a critical component of the pulmonary vasculature, they express characteristic markers including CD31 (PECAM-1), VE-cadherin, von Willebrand factor (vWF), and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS). Rat Lung Endothelial Cells retain key physiological functions such as selective permeability, angiogenic signaling, and cytokine responsiveness, which are vital for modeling lung vascular biology. Cells are cryopreserved at an early passage to ensure high post-thaw viability and stable expression profiles. To maintain optimal performance and functional integrity, repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Rat Lung Endothelial Cells are widely used in studies of pulmonary vascular biology, endothelial barrier function, and inflammatory responses. They serve as a relevant in vitro model for investigating acute lung injury, pulmonary hypertension, asthma, and interstitial lung diseases. These cells are also valuable for evaluating vascular permeability, leukocyte-endothelial interactions, and endothelial responses to oxidative stress and inhaled therapeutic agents.
