Description

Rat Lymphatic Endothelial Cells (rLECs) are primary cells isolated from the lymphatic vessels of rats. These cells display a characteristic cobblestone morphology when cultured and exhibit strong adherence to extracellular matrix-coated surfaces such as fibronectin or collagen. They express key lymphatic-specific markers such as LYVE-1, Podoplanin, PROX1, and VEGFR-3, which clearly differentiate them from blood vascular endothelial cells. These cells play essential roles in lymphangiogenesis, fluid homeostasis, immune cell trafficking, and lipid absorption. Cells are cryopreserved at early passages to maintain high viability, phenotypic stability, and functional integrity. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to maintain optimal cell performance. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Rat Lymphatic Endothelial Cells (rLECs) are widely used for studying lymphatic vessel biology, lymphangiogenesis, inflammation, and tumor metastasis. They provide a relevant in vitro model for investigating lymphatic endothelial responses to growth factors, cytokines, and pharmacological agents. rLECs are also valuable for elucidating mechanisms of immune cell migration, lymphatic remodeling, and dysfunction in disease models such as lymphedema and metastatic cancer.
