Rat Ovarian Microvascular Endothelial Cells from AcceGen are isolated from tissue of adult Sprague-Dawley Rats.
Rat Ovarian Microvascular Endothelial Cells (ROMECs) are isolated from ovarian tissue of 6-8 week-old laboratory Sprague-Dawley rat, exhibiting a cobblestone-like morphology when cultured in vitro, characteristic of endothelial cells. ROMECs regulate blood flow, nutrient exchange, and hormonal transport within the ovary, supporting follicular development and corpus luteum formation. ROMECs express key endothelial markers, including CD31. To ensure the quality of these primary cells, repeated freeze-thaw cycles are not recommended due to the fragile nature of these cells. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Rat Ovarian Microvascular Endothelial Cells (ROMECs) are widely used in biomedical research due to their critical role in ovarian physiology and pathology. These cells serve as an in vitro model to study angiogenesis, vascular permeability, and endothelial cell function in reproductive tissues. In drug discovery and toxicology, ROMECs help assess the effects of hormonal therapies, anti-angiogenic drugs, and environmental toxins on ovarian vasculature.
