Rat Resident Peritoneal Macrophages are derived from the peritoneal cavity of Sprague-Dawley Rats.
Rat Resident Peritoneal Macrophages are isolated from the peritoneal cavity of adult Sprague-Dawley rats via aseptic abdominal lavage. These macrophages play a crucial role in innate immunity and inflammatory responses, thus making them valuable for studying antigen presentation by peritoneal macrophages. The cells express CD11b, verifying their macrophage phenotype, and are widely used for examining the interaction of these cells with other immune cells in the peritoneal cavity. Standard biochemical assays such as RT-PCR, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence staining, and flow cytometry can be performed using these cells for various research applications. To ensure the quality of these primary cells, repeated freeze-thaw cycles are not recommended due to the fragile nature of these cells. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Rat Resident Peritoneal Macrophages are widely used in immunology research, including studies on inflammation, phagocytosis, cytokine production, and host-pathogen interactions. They are suitable for applications such as RT-PCR, Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence staining, flow cytometry, and generation of macrophage derivatives for targeted functional studies. These cells are generally applied in various routine laboratory experiments and are commonly included in diverse immunological workflows.
