Rat Skeletal Muscle Cells, foetal are isolated from limb skeletal muscle.
Rat Skeletal Muscle Cells, foetal are derived from the developing musculoskeletal system of rat embryos, primarily isolated from limb buds or myotomes during the late gestational stages. These cells are predominantly myogenic precursors, including myoblasts and early-stage myotubes. They exhibit a spindle-shaped or bipolar structure when undifferentiated (myoblasts), while fused, multinucleated myotubes display an elongated, tubular morphology upon differentiation. These cells are vital for foetal muscle development, contributing to myofiber formation, neuromuscular junction establishment, and extracellular matrix remodeling. Key molecular markers include MyoD, MyoG, and Pax7. To ensure the quality of these primary cells, repeated freeze-thaw cycles are not recommended due to the fragile nature of these cells. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Rat Skeletal Muscle Cells, foetal (fetal rat skeletal muscle cells) are widely used in biomedical research due to their high proliferative capacity and ability to differentiate into mature myotubes, making them an excellent model for studying skeletal muscle development, regeneration, and disease. These cells are particularly valuable in myogenesis research, where they help elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying muscle cell differentiation, including the roles of myogenic regulatory factors (MRFs) and signaling pathways.
