Rat spleen is mechanically dissociated into a single cell suspension.
Rat Splenocytes CD8+ T cells are isolated from the spleen tissue of adult Sprague-Dawley rats. These cells are cryopreserved immediately after isolation. They exhibit small, round morphology in suspension culture and function to recognize and eliminate virus-infected cells, tumor cells, and cells with intracellular pathogens through perforin and granzyme-mediated cytotoxicity, and regulate immune responses via cytokine secretion, making them relevant to studies on viral infections, cancer immunology, and autoimmune diseases like type 1 diabetes. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Rat Splenocytes CD8+ T cells act as an in vitro model to study cytotoxic immune responses in diseases like viral infections, cancer, and autoimmune disorders. For example, by examining their activation, cytotoxic granule release, and target cell lysis pathways, they enhance understanding of CD8+ T cell-mediated immunity and pathological dysregulation, aiding in exploring therapies for immune-related diseases.
