Description

Wistar Rat Dermal Fibroblasts are isolated from the dermal layer of neonatal or juvenile Rattus norvegicus (Wistar strain) skin tissue under sterile conditions. The source is full-thickness dorsal skin, and the isolated cells are primary fibroblasts—connective tissue cells that produce extracellular matrix proteins including collagen and elastin. These cells are obtained via enzymatic digestion, exhibit a spindle-shaped, adherent morphology, and are cryopreserved at low passage (P1 to P3) to maintain proliferative and metabolic integrity. These cells are validated by immunocytochemistry for fibroblast-specific markers such as vimentin and fibronectin, with negative staining for epithelial (cytokeratin) and endothelial (CD31) markers. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Wistar Rat Dermal Fibroblasts are widely used in basic and translational research involving wound healing, fibrosis, tissue remodeling, toxicology, and drug testing. They are also employed in 3D skin model construction, matrix biology studies, and comparative animal model research for dermatological and systemic diseases. Moreover, they serve as valuable tools for investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying skin aging processes and developing anti-aging interventions.
