Description

BALB/c Mouse Intestinal Cells are primary epithelial cells isolated from the small intestine tissue of BALB/c mice (Mus musculus). These cells are derived from the intestinal mucosa and primarily consist of enterocytes and other epithelial subtypes lining the intestinal lumen. The cells display a typical cobblestone morphology that is characteristic of epithelial cells and form a confluent monolayer under standard culture conditions. These primary intestinal cells retain essential physiological functions, including nutrient absorption and barrier integrity, making them representative of in vivo intestinal epithelium. The cells are maintained at low passage numbers to preserve their functional and phenotypic characteristics. Karyotype analysis confirms a stable murine chromosome complement, and immunophenotyping demonstrates high expression of epithelial markers such as E-cadherin and cytokeratins. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • BALB/c Mouse Intestinal Cells offer a physiologically relevant in vitro model for studying various aspects of intestinal biology. They are commonly used in research on gastrointestinal barrier function and permeability, host-microbe interactions and gut microbiome dynamics, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), colorectal cancer, drug absorption and metabolism, as well as intestinal epithelial regeneration and wound healing. Their application supports mechanistic studies of intestinal health, disease pathogenesis, and therapeutic screening for gastrointestinal disorders.
