Human Coronary Art Sm Mus Cells-Diabetic Type II model diabetic vascular remodeling, enabling smooth muscle contractility and metabolism research.
Human Coronary Artery Smooth Muscle Cells-Diabetic Type II (HCASMC‑DM2) are isolated from Type 2 diabetic donors and cryopreserved at early passage to maintain high viability. HCASMC-DM2 cells typically exhibit a spindle-shaped morphology and grow as a monolayer under standard culture conditions. They express key smooth muscle markers including alpha-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and calponin. In Type 2 Diabetes, vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) exhibit increased proliferation, adhesion, migration, and altered mechanical properties like reduced stiffness and enhanced traction force—contributing to accelerated atherosclerosis, restenosis, and vascular remodeling. Diabetic Type 2 HCASMC primary cells provide a robust in vitro model for studying diabetic macro- and microvascular pathologies. To preserve functional integrity, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles during culture. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, syphilis, mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.

Human Coronary Artery Smooth Muscle Cells from Diabetic Type II donors are used as a valuable model for studying vascular complications caused by long-term hyperglycemia. These cells help researchers explore mechanisms of smooth muscle cell proliferation, migration, and extracellular matrix remodeling under diabetic conditions. They play an essential role in investigating diabetic atherosclerosis and testing the efficacy of drugs aimed at preventing vascular fibrosis and stiffness associated with diabetes.
