Human Hepatic Non-Parenchymal Cells (HP-F-NPC)

Description

Human Hepatic Non-Parenchymal Cells (HP-F-NPC) are a mixed population of liver-resident cells—including Kupffer cells (macrophages), liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), and hepatic stellate cells—isolated directly from human liver tissue without extensive passaging. This NPC fraction, representing approximately 30 % of liver cells, displays physiological phenotypes such as scavenging of endotoxins, fenestrated endothelium, and vitamin A–storing stellate features. These cells play key roles in immunoregulation, liver regeneration, and extracellular matrix remodeling, especially during drug-induced injury and fibrotic progression. Their native cell ratios and in vivo-like functionality make HP-F-NPC an authentic model system for liver biology and disease research. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • HP-F-NPC are ideal for co-culture systems that replicate the liver microenvironment, enhancing studies in ADME/Tox, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and fibrotic pathways. They enable investigation of macrophage-mediated inflammation, endothelial barrier dynamics, and stellate cell activation triggering fibrosis. These cells support liver organoid development and are useful in screening anti-fibrotic drugs, immunomodulators, and vascular-targeted therapies within physiologically relevant multi-cell liver models.
