Description

Human Skeletal Muscle Cells, Foetal (HSkMC, Foetal) are isolated from developing skeletal muscle tissue obtained during the fetal stage of human gestation. These cells primarily consist of early-stage myoblasts, which are actively proliferating and poised for differentiation. HSkMC-Foetal cells exhibit a spindle-shaped morphology and adhere strongly in vitro, with a robust proliferative capacity and stable growth through several passages. Functionally, they are highly relevant for studying early myogenesis, myoblast fusion, and developmental muscle disorders. Karyotype analysis confirms chromosomal stability, and early myogenic markers such as Pax3, Pax7, MyoD, and Desmin are prominently expressed. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human Skeletal Muscle Cells, Foetal (HSkMC, Foetal) serve as a relevant model system for investigating the fundamental processes of muscle development and disease. These cells provide unique insights into the molecular and cellular mechanisms driving foetal myogenesis, including myoblast proliferation, differentiation, and early muscle formation. They are also used to model congenital muscle disorders such as muscular dystrophies and myotubular myopathies, enabling researchers to study disease pathogenesis and identify potential therapeutic interventions.
