Description

Human Skin Cells (Fibroblasts) (HSFs) are isolated from the dermal layer of healthy human skin and represent a major component of the connective tissue responsible for synthesizing key extracellular matrix components, including collagen and elastin. These skin fibroblasts exhibit a classic spindle-shaped, elongated morphology and adherent growth. HSFs play a crucial role in wound healing, skin homeostasis, and tissue remodeling. They express key fibroblast markers including vimentin and fibronectin, verified via immunocytochemistry and Western blotting. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human Skin Cells (Fibroblasts) (HSFs) serve as a widely accepted model system for investigating cutaneous biology, wound repair mechanisms, and skin aging processes. These versatile cells are valuable for studying extracellular matrix remodeling in fibrotic disorders, evaluating anti-aging interventions, and assessing dermal responses to environmental stressors. In translational applications, HSFs play a critical role in developing advanced skin equivalents for tissue engineering, developing physiologically relevant 3D skin models for pharmacological testing, and supporting epithelial-stromal interactions in co-culture systems. Their utility extends to cosmetic science, where they enable safety and efficacy testing of dermatological products while reducing animal experimentation.
