Mouse Podocytes are derived from mouse kidney tissue. Following the primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. Mouse Podocytes are an essential component of the glomerulus and play a critical role in the kidney’s filtration barrier. Studies have shown that Mouse Podocytes are associated with various kidney diseases, such as nephrotic syndrome, diabetic nephropathy, and acute kidney injury. The positive markers for Mouse Podocytes include Nephrin, Podocin, CD2AP, Glomerular Epithelial Protein 1 (GLEPP1), Vimentin, Pax-2, WT-1, Lmx-1B, Neuropilin-1, Ephrin-B2, PDGF, and TGF-β1. These cells should avoid repeated freezing and thawing during culture.

Mouse podocyte cells enable glomerular disease modeling by studying cellular/molecular mechanisms of kidney diseases; high-content imaging drug screening for podocyte protection/regeneration; podocyte biology investigations of differentiation, proliferation, and functional influences; molecular mechanism studies of specific genes/proteins in glomerular filtration; in vivo dynamics analysis via multiphoton microscopy; and tissue repair/regeneration research post-kidney injury.
