MOLM-13 Leukemia Cells are optimized for acute myeloid leukemia research with high viability, quality testing, and contaminant-free assurance.
MOLM-13 is a human leukemia cell line derived from the peripheral blood of a 20-year-old male patient diagnosed with relapsed acute myeloid leukemia (AML), FAB subtype M5a. The cells display monoblast-like morphology with round to oval shape and grow in suspension culture. MOLM-13 harbors the FLT3-ITD (internal tandem duplication) mutation and MLL-AF9 fusion gene, both associated with aggressive leukemia phenotypes and poor prognosis. The cell line exhibits high proliferative capacity, cytokine responsiveness, and can be used to model AML pathogenesis and drug resistance. MOLM-13 expresses hematopoietic markers such as CD15, CD33, and CD117 and is commonly employed to study FLT3-targeted therapies and epigenetic regulation in AML, with distinctions from MOLM-14 often highlighted in studies comparing FLT3-ITD signaling strength and differential drug sensitivity.

MOLM-13 cells are widely used for investigating AML biology, especially FLT3-ITD-driven leukemogenesis. They serve as a key model for preclinical testing of FLT3 inhibitors and combination therapies. MOLM-13 also supports studies on epigenetic modulation, apoptosis, and resistance mechanisms to standard chemotherapy. Their reliable growth and molecular profile make them ideal for high-throughput drug screening and molecular pathway research.
