Description

Rat Bone Marrow Neutrophils are primary myeloid cells isolated from the bone marrow of healthy rats under sterile conditions. These cells are harvested and cryopreserved immediately after isolation to maintain their native phenotype and high functional activity. Neutrophils are terminally differentiated granulocytes characterized by multilobed nuclei and cytoplasmic granules, exhibiting rapid responses to inflammatory stimuli. In rats, bone marrow neutrophils play key roles in acute inflammation, microbial defense, and sterile injury response via reactive oxygen species generation, degranulation, and neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation. They express surface marker CD11b. These cells are non-proliferative and unsuitable for passaging. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Rat Bone Marrow Neutrophils are widely used in immunological and pharmacological research to study inflammation, host-pathogen interactions, and innate immune response. They serve as reliable in vitro models for exploring neutrophil activation pathways, cytokine release, oxidative stress & protease release during degranulation, and NETosis dynamics in thromboinflammatory diseases. These cells are also suitable for drug screening aimed at modulating neutrophilic inflammation in conditions such as sepsis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ischemia-reperfusion injury.
