Rat Intestinal Endothelial Cells serve as a robust in vitro model for studying the physiological and pathological roles of the intestinal microvasculature. They are widely used in studies of gastrointestinal inflammation, ischemia–reperfusion injury, barrier integrity, leukocyte trafficking, and cross-talk with epithelial and immune cells. These cells are also ideal for modeling drug absorption and transport across the intestinal endothelium, making them valuable for preclinical pharmacokinetics and toxicity testing. Their ability to respond to cytokines and shear stress further supports their application in vascular inflammation and angiogenesis studies within the intestinal environment.
