Rat Intestinal Smooth Muscle Cells (RISMCa) are primary cells isolated from the muscularis layer of rat small intestine. These cells display an elongated, spindle-shaped morphology and exhibit strong adherence to collagen-coated culture vessels. Under optimized conditions, they form aligned, contractile cell networks resembling native intestinal smooth muscle architecture. Rat Intestinal Smooth Muscle Cells express smooth muscle-specific markers such as α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), calponin, and smooth muscle myosin heavy chain (SM-MHC). These cells maintain high viability following cryopreservation at early passage. For optimal results, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve cell integrity and physiological behavior. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.
