Rat vascular fibroblasts, 2-week Wistar rat.
Rat Vascular Fibroblasts are isolated from the vascular tissue of rats. Cryopreserved at early passage, these cells exhibit a spindle-shaped morphology and grow as adherent monolayers. They function in producing extracellular matrix components to support vascular structure, regulating vascular remodeling, and interacting with smooth muscle cells, with relevance to studies on atherosclerosis, hypertension, and vascular stenosis. They express vimentin and display a normal diploid karyotype. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Rat Vascular Fibroblasts can be used as an in vitro model to study vascular remodeling and pathogenesis of diseases such as atherosclerosis and hypertension. For example, by investigating the molecular pathways of their proliferation and extracellular matrix synthesis, they provide a better understanding of vascular structural maintenance and pathological changes, aiding in exploring treatments for vascular fibrotic disorders.
